Qatar Officially Joins Digital Cooperation Organization

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) of Qatar formalized its membership in the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) by signing a charter during the 21st session of the Doha Forum 2023.

The charter was endorsed by HE Mr. Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and HE Ms. Deemah AlYahya – Secretary-General of the DCO. This charter underscores Qatar‘s dedication, as embodied by MCIT, to advancing the digital economy and promoting global collaboration in innovation, empowerment, and expediting digital transformation.

His Excellency Mr. Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, emphasized the importance of signing the charter, stating, “The signing of the charter to join the Digital Cooperation Organization contributes to enhancing Qatar’s role as a key player on the international level in the field of technology and digital innovation. It enables the exchange of experiences for digital technology startups and artificial intelligence, bridging cooperation and communication to allow youth and entrepreneurs to exchange ideas and knowledge in the digital realms at both the regional and international levels.”

HE Ms. Deemah AlYahya expressed her enthusiasm for Qatar joining the Digital Cooperation Organization, emphasizing it as a noteworthy occasion. She highlighted Qatar’s prominence in information technology services and sees this as an exceptional opportunity for the country to actively participate in shaping digital policies, initiatives, and collaborative efforts with fellow member nations to advance digital development.
