StartUp Bahrain, a prominent platform supporting startups in the Kingdom of Bahrain, recently hosted the seventh installment of the StartUp Bahrain Pitch series. Collaborating with key industry players such as the Ministry of Industry & Commerce, the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), the Bahrain Economic Development Board, and Bahrain Development Bank (BDB), the event attracted significant attention within the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
During the event, entrepreneur and investor Bader Al Essa delivered a keynote speech, emphasizing the significance of setting specific, measurable goals in accomplishing entrepreneurial objectives.
The pitch event highlighted four Bahraini startups, presenting their innovative business concepts to a distinguished panel of judges comprising local and regional experts. The panel included Ali Abdulhussain, Investment Manager at Oman Investment Authority; Sameer Uchi, a board member of Bahrain’s Hope Fund and a serial entrepreneur; Suzy Kanoo, CEO of Khalil bin Ebrahim Kanoo; and Bader Al Essa, an entrepreneur and investor from Kuwait.
These startups, representing diverse sectors, emerged after undergoing an intensive fundraising and pitching bootcamp, ‘Raise: Art of Fundraising,’ conducted by industry experts.
The participating startups covered various niches: Kashta Tours, focusing on innovative leisure trips and programs for all; Xtrude Engineering, a company specializing in digital manufacturing solutions; Faceki, providing AI-powered facial recognition and identification technology; and TWB Watches, a local luxury watch retailer.
Following rigorous evaluation, Kashta Tours, led by founder Ahmed Jamsheer, was declared the first-place winner.
Expressing gratitude, Jamsheer noted, “The bootcamp experience equipped my team with invaluable skills and a deep understanding of fundraising and the market.”
Jamsheer further highlighted the event’s significance, stating, “The StartUp Bahrain Pitch event provided a crucial platform to showcase our business. We highly appreciate the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Tamkeen, the Bahrain Economic Development Board, Bahrain Development Bank, the esteemed panel of judges, and, of course, StartUp Bahrain for their unwavering support and for granting us this incredible opportunity.”
